Odette Part 1

I recently went to Odette at the National Gallery for a staycation lunch with a friend to celebrate 20 years of friendship.

We had a great time. I didn’t have trouble making reservations over Chope but was told by friends that the queue was 3 months. Guess we were lucky. Just don’t pick a Sunday or a Monday.

My favourite mushroom consome soup. One tiny cup.

The dried mushrooms are for sniffing. Don’t pop into your mouth. Multi-sensory.

Speaking of bread. I over- ate. With a signature stamp on the butter.

North Highlands Beef Tartare, smoked bone marrow with pickled kohlrabi and grain mustard.

Mains

What an entrance with dry ice. Just to present the egg with rosemary. ( Noma has a similar concept with pine. Just saying. )

Served with wabi sabi imperfect spoon. No two spoons are alike. In their imperfection, they’re so perfect.
