Its been years since Ive stepped into Jurong Bird Bird. Tallest man-made waterfall in the world.
While in KL recently, I thought of visiting the KL birdpark as my hotel was 10 mins away. My research on the Internet instead unearthed comparisons between the two:Jurong vs KL. Winner: Jurong. I decided to see it for myself.
Criticisms: birds were mainly in cages (this comment is only partially valid. The toucans are in cages but most are in landscaped habitat. )
Best time to visit is the morning at 0830am when the Park opens.
1. The birds are feeding, active and grooming.
2. Cool weather (bring umbrella and shades in case. )
3. Birds still smell fresh
4. The road is smooth. No crowds.
5. Go shopping in the afternoon.
Took a cab from Vivocity. 10 mins maybe because it was 830am on a public holiday Deepavali. Very few people. (By 1030am the crowd picked up). Have a nasi lemak breakfast at entrance. Reasonable price.
Take a tram ride and start with waterfall aviary then move downwards to Pelican Cove and flamingo lake and lory loft.
These are walkin aviary if you don’t want to see the caged birds.
The landscaping is excellent, comparable to Botanic Gardens.
